The Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON) is a newsletter that covers professional wrestling and mixed martial arts.
Wrestling podcasts, news and reviews covering WWE, NXT, NJPW, ROH, Impact, Lucha Underground, UFC and more from John Pollock & Wai Ting.
Founded in print in 1982 by Dave Meltzer, the Wrestling Observer website merged with Bryan Alvarez’s Figure Four Weekly website in 2008. Issues are offered in print and digital. The newsletter is often considered the first ’dirt sheet’, which is a wrestling publication which covers the art from a real-life perspective.[1]History[edit]
The beginnings of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter date back to 1980, when Meltzer began an annual poll amongst those with whom he corresponded regarding professional wrestling. According to Meltzer, he was just a fan at first. A short time later, he began maintaining a tape-trading list, and would occasionally send match results and news updates along with tape updates. Meltzer stated that he wanted to keep his friends in college ’in the loop’ for his tape trading as well as the happenings in the business, as the mainstream wrestling magazines catered to a somewhat younger demographic.[2]
This led directly to the formation of the WON, which Meltzer first began publishing in 1982 as a way to keep fans informed of various wrestling regions that readers may not have been aware of or had no access to. The WON has been published from the start from various communities in Northern California, except for a six-month period in late 1983 and early 1984 when Meltzer resided in Wichita Falls, Texas. For most of its existence, it has been published from Campbell, California, a suburb of San Jose. The publication was originally a 16- to 24-page publication on 8½-by-14-inch paper, and published roughly every two or three weeks.
Meltzer contemplated a career change during the mid-1980s. He was to be hired to cover soccer instead and just contribute to other wrestling newsletters.[3] In 1985, he announced that he would be ceasing publication, citing disinterest in the wrestling landscape of the time and too much time having to be spent on bookkeeping and mailing lists.[3] At that point, he continued offering the WON on a ’temporary’ basis as an 8-page weekly on 8½-by-11-inch paper only to fill out the remainder of his subscriptions.[3] Reader response convinced him to pursue the WON as his career instead. He started writing the WON full-time in 1987, retaining the smaller 8-page format. By this point, Meltzer began making appearances at major wrestling events, at first mostly in Japan. He was seen as a spectator in the front row at Chi-Town Rumble in 1989, seated next to Brad Muster, at the time a fullback with the Chicago Bears.
The WON’s earlier years were also marked by revealing insider news and various behind-the-scenes happenings in the industry, a groundbreaking approach in a kayfabe-heavy era.[4] Meltzer’s approach benefitted from professional contacts, a historic perspective, and his own analysis of trends, data, and events. The WWE’s 1997 ’Montreal Screwjob’ was exhaustively covered by the WON, including backstage events, including from Bret Hart himself. Meltzer published,[4] Meltzer had to find other ways to advertise his newsletter. Advertisements and other promotion were often published in kayfabe and semi-kayfabe publications. Early sources for knowledge of the WON’s existence were The Wrestling News published by Norman Kietzer, as well as Factsheet Five. The latter was decidedly a non-wrestling publication, though the WON and other wrestling sheets made up a significant amount of its coverage. Other magazines such as Wrestling Main Event and Wrestling Eye also provided mention. Meltzer was also able to advertise his publication during various guest appearances on wrestling radio shows and guest editorials in various national newspapers.
With the ubiquitous emergence of the Internet and wrestling web sites that are able to provide news in real time, today’s WON differs in the way it covers the wrestling scene in that it provides more of an editorial and analysis on the news and what impacts it could have on the business.[5] Wrestlers such as Konnan have noted seeing copies of the WON on Vince McMahon’s office desk.[6] It is believed many, if not most, of the biggest stars in WWE and other major promotions are subscribers, although few would admit it publicly. Several subscribed under their birth names, instead of ring names, thinking Meltzer would not find out their true identities. Howard Finkel’s wife was publicly acknowledged by Meltzer as an early WON subscriber, and at the time, the closest reach the publication likely had to McMahon, which was in response to a reader questioning the likelihood of McMahon himself reading the publication.Influence and legacy[edit]
Though he is not a wrestler or part of a promotion, Meltzer has occasionally been referenced within the professional wrestling ring. In the short-lived Universal Wrestling Federation (UWF) promotion, a jobber wrestled under the ring name Dave ’The Observer’ Meltzer. In 2014, The Young Bucks introduced a finishing move, combining a springboard 450 splash with a spike piledriver, dubbing it the ’Meltzer Driver’. In 2016, The Addiction introduced a finishing move, combining a double jump moonsault with a spike piledriver, dubbing it the ’Best Meltzer Ever’. Also, Ricochet and Matt Sydal introduced a finishing move combining a shooting star press with a spike piledriver dubbing it the ’Shooting Star Meltzer Driver’.
Meltzer’s newsletter has led to a loyal fan following and radio shows.[7] After getting a job with The National Sports Daily in 1990, Meltzer was finally able to open dialogue with Vince McMahon, leading to elevation in both Meltzer’s reputation and readership. In his first autobiography, Mick Foley declared that it was the WON’s coverage of his independent circuit matches that caused World Championship Wrestling (WCW) to consider signing him, since he was against ’type’. Foley also wrote that promoters such as Watts would sometimes change their entire booking direction based on the opinions expressed in Meltzer’s newsletter.[8]
In May 2015, Meltzer reported that Destination America had decided to cancel Impact Wrestling by late September 2015.[9][10]Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) vehemently denied the reports, claiming that they ’constitute[d] defamation’ and that they were ’seek[ing] all legal remedies available’, but TNA was off Destination America by January 2016 and no legal matters ever arose.[11]WON Hall of Fame[edit]
Like other wrestling halls of fame, such as the WWE, WCW, TNA, and NWA halls of fame, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame is not a physical place. Nonetheless, it is a respected honor in the world of wrestling. Every year, Meltzer conducts a poll of selected ’insiders’ and wrestlers to determine new inductees into the WON Hall of Fame. Pro Wrestling Illustrated has adopted the WON Hall of Fame as their own.[12]Wrestling Observer Live[edit]
Meltzer was the former host of Wrestling Observer Live, a wrestling radio show. Co-hosting the show with Meltzer was Bryan Alvarez, editor of the Figure Four Weekly newsletter. Meltzer and Alvarez hosted the show every Sunday night from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. EST on the Sports Byline Radio Network. Due to the show airing on Sunday nights, replays were played on nights there were WWE pay-per-views. The show debuted in October 1999 and aired five days a week on the internet radio channel, eYada.com. eYada closed on July 9, 2001, with Wrestling Observer Live, its highest-rated show, being the last show to broadcast on the station. Wrestling Observer Live was picked up by Sports Byline, a radio syndicator, on March 17, 2002, and had stayed in its current position ever since. Meltzer stopped appearing regularly on September 2007, but still appears sparingly. On Sunday nights, Meltzer regularly appeared in a segment on the radio show Live Audio Wrestling prior to the show’s cancellation.Online transition[edit]

In 1973, singer-songwriter Harry Nilsson released an album of standards from the Great American Songbook-an adventurous and unprecedented move for someone in the height of their powers in the rock era. We’re featuring that album on this episode, as well as examining Nilsson’s musical career and hearing the work of the album’s chief orchestrator and conductor, Gordon Jenkins.Nilsson’s Three Careers
Nilsson was a unique character in pop music. A multiple-Grammy award winner, championed by a host of musicians, including Lennon and McCartney, he was a talented singer and songwriter who achieved success without ever having a major, live public performance. Before he became known as a notorious reveler in the late 1970s, Nilsson maintained three distinct and successful musical careers.
One, he was singer-songwriter, known for performing his own ironically-penned songs in styles that ranged from heartfelt ballads to raucous rock anthems (’Jump Into the Fire’) to humorous novelty songs (’Coconut’). Nilsson had a gift for melodic invention as good as Paul McCartney or George Gershwin, but his songs were always imbued with detached irony that made him a bit of an oddball-perhaps no more evident than in ’The Moonbeam Song’ off of 1971’s Nilsson Schmilsson.
But before he was a singer-songwriter, Nilsson started out his career as simply a songwriter who wrote for other artists. In fact, some of his best-known songs were performed by other artists, including Glen Campbell (’Without Her’), Fred Astaire (’The Wailing of the Willow’), Three Dog Night (’One (Is the Loneliest Number)’), and the Monkees (’Cuddly Toy’).
Finally, Nilsson was also a skilled musical interpreter. Blessed with a delicate, angelic tenor, some of Nilsson’s most well-known songs (including the songs for which he won Grammy awards) were his tender interpretations of other people’s music, including Fred Neil’s folk-heavy ’Everybody’s Talkin’ from Midnight Cowboy, Badfinger’s power ballad ’Without You,’ and an entire critically-acclaimed album of Randy Newman songs from 1970 called Nilsson Sings Newman.Gordon Jenkins
When Nilsson decided to perform an album of standards in 1973, at the height of his musical influence and power, it was considered career suicide for an artist groomed in the rock era. And since Nilsson would often perform with his tongue placed firmly in cheek, no one was quite sure if this endeavor was a farce.
But Nilsson and his producer Derek Taylor (the Beatles’ former press officer, who had never produced an album before) took the album very seriously. For this, they wanted to employ an arranger who could give the music an appropriate treatment-someone who they felt had the knowledge and the talent to support their project.
Their initial thought was Nelson Riddle, Sinatra’s arranger for Capitol in the 1950s, although Taylor feared that his own left-wing politics wouldn’t mesh with the older Riddle. Billy May was also considered, but his arrangements were too brassy for their vision. The duo settled on Gordon Jenkins, the man who arranged for Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and Nat King Cole.
Jenkins was the perfect fit. His arrangements were smart, lush with strings, and had the right delicate touch for the late-night album Nilsson was envisioning. Both Nilsson and Jenkins were Grammy winners too. Jenkins won in 1966 for his orchestral arrangement of ’It Was A Very Good Year’ from Frank Sinatra’s youthful reflection album September of My Years.
It was a marvel the two ever got together in the first place, with Jenkins being of a completely different generation than Nilsson. But Jenkins was immediately impressed with Nilsson’s musicianship, so he canceled his other engagements to jump at the opportunity. The sessions took some getting used to-Nilsson had to get used to singing with a conductor, and Jenkins had to get used to spending more time working things out in the studio. Nilsson even ending up singing one of Jenkins’s own songs, the song ’This Is All I Ask.’A Little Touch of Schmilsson
Nilsson wasn’t the first artist from the rock era to consciously look back at the Great American Songbook. That distinction goes to Ringo Starr in 1970, whose album Sentimental Journey includes all standards, like Hoagy Carmichael’s ’Stardust’ and Cole Porter’s ’Night and Day,’ featuring arrangements by Quincy Jones, Oliver Nelson, and Paul McCartney. With the weight of the Beatles’ fame behind him, Starr could get away with an album featuring the music of his parents’ generation-the whole album was a present for his mother, after all.
However, Nilsson’s album-which followed very closely-should be considered the first valiant effort at an album of standards. Not only did he possess a vastly superior voice to Ringo Starr, but his decision to use Gordon Jenkins, an arranger for Sinatra and Nat King Cole, gave the album a certain pedigree.
One tip he did take from his years working in the late 60s rock scene was to unify the album with some musical cues. The whole album has a rough narrative arc, from infatuation, through courting, marriage, separation, and ending with old age. The opening track is the little known ’Lazy Moon’ by Bob Cole and J. Rosamund Johnson-but he includes a touch of the song ’As Time Goes By,’ a theme that returns throughout the album.
The album’s title comes from a play on words from Shakespeare. In the play Henry V, right before the Battle of Agincourt, the chorus gives some reassurance with the line ’A Little Touch of Harry in the Night.’ Harry Nilsson gives it his signature ironic twist by adding his nickname from his previous albums Nilsson Schmilsson and Son of Schmilsson. The dreamy album is perfectly suited to late-night listening, so it all seemed to fit.
The track that might have inspired the whole album was ’It Had to be You,’ the Islam Jones and Gus Kahn classic. Nilsson first performed the song during an outtake from the album session for Son of Schmilsson. Here, he ad-libbed a joke lyric about a very tall woman, which made it onto this album. That bit of humor is pure Nilsson and not Gus Kahn, despite what the original liner notes to the record say. The song also included a quotation of ’Over the Rainbow’-another one of those unifying themes, but from a song that didn’t make it onto the final cut of the album. The final track from the album, ’As Time Goes By’ which ends the album’s journey from new love through old age. was the only cut that happened to get any serious radio play.
Reflecting back on the album years later, Nilsson remarked that A Little Touch of Schmilsson in the Night was his best work, despite the commercial risk. An earnest effort at the Great American Songbook didn’t sell to Nilsson’s younger fan base. Standards were old or novelty. (This was the era of Tiny Tim, after all.) But Nilsson was still happy he recorded it when he did. Editing (and most of the analysis) will be done using BioEdit, a freeware sequence analysis program developed by Tom Hall at North Carolina State University.
BioEdit is one of the most common program used in molecular biology studies. It was developed initially as a biological sequence alignment editor written for Windows only. It contains many features for sequence alignments modes of easy hand.
*BioEdit is not available for Mac but there are plenty of alternatives that runs on macOS with similar functionality. The most popular Mac alternative is UGENE, which is both free and Open Source.If that doesn’t suit you, our users have ranked 27 alternatives to BioEdit and 18 are available for Mac so hopefully you can find a suitable replacement.

The sequences you are working with were prepared by the Davidson lab from DNA fragments cloned in the pSTBlue-1 plasmid vector.(See sequence analysis references for full map.)The clones were sequenced using either the T7 or SP6 promoter primers that flank the multiple cloning site in this vector.Because of this, the bases at the beginning of each sequence file you have are vector sequence, rather than cloned sequence.Since this may interfere with analysis of the sequence, these will have to be edited out.
To identify vector sequences, alignments will be prepared between your edited forward and reverse complement sequences and the sequence in the pstblue1vector.txt file.(This file contains the sequence of the multiple cloning site region of pSTBlue-1.)
Click on the File menu, New alignment.
Click on the File menu, Import.Look in the Desktop (or wherever else you saved the edited sequence files), files of type All files.Click on the edited forward sequence file to open it.Repeat this process for the pstblue1vector.txt file.Select both files with the mouse by dragging it over the file names at the left.Click on Sequence menu, Pairwise alignment, Aligntwo sequence (allow ends to slide).If the vector sequence is on the same strand as the forward sequence, the vector should have a region of exact (or almost exact) homology with the beginning of the forward sequence.If this does not occur, repeat the process with the reverse complement sequence file (in a New alignment).If the vector sequence given is the opposite strand to the forward sequence, then there should be a region of (almost) exact homology with the end of the reverse complement.

Head into the Clan page in Bannerlord, which can be done by clicking on the icon from the bottom left of the screen.
From the Clan page, click on your portrait from the top left of the screen and go to the “Home” tab. This opens the Encyclopedia tab. We then want to navigate to the “Heroes” page.
On the left side of the Heroes page, check the box under Occupation called Wanderer. This is how you can see every single Companion in Bannerlord.
Reference this location to see where exactly on the map you can find each companion. If you click on a person you can see their character sheet along with their skills in order to find out where they excel.
From the character screen, you can also find out where that companion was last seen. Look at the top right of the window and you should say something that says “Last seen at [location] today.”
Click on the city listed in that section, and it will bring up some information about that city. You’ll see a track button on the top left of the screen that you can select. If we select that and then exit back into our game, we’ll have a marker for that city’s location.
You can head over to the settlement or location where the companion you want is located. Companions can sometimes move to completely different settlements by the time you arrive, so check on their location often.
You can save the game before arriving at the settlement, and reload from the save spot if your NPC is not there. A random NPC will be shown in that settlement at the top right of the screen. Rhye’s and Fall of Civilization (RFC) is a ’fan scenario’[1] (mod) for the 2005 computer game Sid Meier’s Civilization IV. Rhye’s and Fall of Civilization built upon Gabriele Trovato’s earlier mods for Civilization II and Civilization III, especially Rhye’s of Civilization which also sought greater historical accuracy.[3] The popularity of these prompted Civilization IV developers Firaxis to invite him to contribute content for inclusion in the game upon its release. The result was two maps (’Earth’[4] and ’Ice Age Earth’)[5] and two historical scenarios (’Earth 1000 AD’[6] and ’Greek World’).[7]
The first alpha version of Rhye’s and Fall of Civilization, then called ’Rhye’s Catapult’, was released on 26 April 2006, featuring an elaborated Earth map and the ’Rise and Fall’ mechanism.[8] With the release of the first official Civilization IV expansion, Warlords, the mod was forked into two versions: one incorporating the new Warlords content and one that remained compatible with ’vanilla’ Civilization IV. A third fork was made with the release of the second expansion for the same reason. The Beyond the Sword version of Rhye’s and Fall of Civilization was one of the three user-created scenarios that shipped with the official Firaxis expansion (along with Fall from Heaven and Road to War).[1] Development of all three forks continued concurrently, with new features being incorporated into all as far as possible. The final versions of all three were released on 2 June 2010.[9]
As of May 2010 there are two ’variants’ of Rhye’s and Fall of Civilization, which alter the core gameplay in some way. The first, RFC MP, was released on 21 October 2007 and enables multiplayer games of Rhye’s and Fall of Civilization over the internet, LAN or locally in hotseat mode. In order to make this possible, several gameplay features had to be disabled.[10] The second variant, RFC RAND, was released on 28 July 2008. It is similar to regular Rhye’s and Fall of Civilization but is played on a randomised map of various sizes, climates and ’Earth likeness’. Rhye’s and Fall of Civilization is set on Earth and is designed to mirror a historical Earth as closely as possible. To this end, most civilizations have historically accurate starting locations and times, instead of random starting locations all at 4,000 BC as in a typical game. When a new civilization appears, any foreign cities in its core territory will ’flip’ to the new civ; this can have the effect of simulating such historical events as the breakup of the Roman Empire and the American Revolution. Each civilization also gets a passive power based on its history. For example, Russia has a power, called ’General Winter’, that makes enemy units inside its borders take a small amount of damage, while England has a power that gives its naval units two extra first strike chances called ’The Power of the Royal Navy’.Nuclear war in the Middle East between Arabia and Persia
One of the main features of Rhye’s and Fall of Civilization is the game’s ability to monitor the stability of national governments, taking into account war, disease, corruption, invasion, and other factors which might influence the fall of a nation. If a ’major power’ controlled by the AI in the game becomes extremely unstable, it will cease to exist and its former territory will be split up into several independent nations. These smaller countries are not barbarian-controlled, and do not normally attack major nations unless attacked first. When a human player collapses, only about half of their cities become independent; the other half remain loyal. After one civilization has discovered nationalism, ancient or collapsed civilizations may respawn, either in independent lands or in lands belonging to relatively unstable civilizations. For example, in the nineteenth century the Greek civilization may declare its independence from an occupying power, which is usually the Ottoman Empire.
The game spawns plagues randomly through the world around certain dates; for example, a plague will generally begin in the 14th–15th century to simulate the Black Death. Plague spreads from country to country, entering cities. A city afflicted with plague will lose one population point per turn, as well as a hefty unhealthiness penalty. Units garrisoned in or close to plague-affected cities will take damage until they die or the plague ends. The more health bonuses that a civilization has, the faster the plague ends. Plagues can be permanently avoided by a nation once the technology ’Medicine’ is researched.
Rhye’s and Fall of Civilization is also designed to simulate the drastic impact that the arrival of Europeans had in the New World. Upon sailing any unit from Europe to the Americas, the player is instantly granted several military units to simulate the exploits of the Spanish conquistadors. This also spawns a plague exclusively amongst the Amerindian civilizations to simulate smallpox. Unless they are destroyed by the conquistadors, Mesoamerican civilizations such as the Aztecs and the Mayans typically become vassals to colonial powers, including Spain, France, England, and Portugal. English expansion in North America usually comes to an end when the territory changes to that of America in 1776 AD although it is possible to maintain a presence in Canada.
Besides the typical victory conditions in the game, every civilization has another victory option – Unique Historical Victories. These usually include three historical achievements that the nation managed or attempted. For example, Rome’s Unique Historical Victory is to have a barracks, amphitheatre and aqueduct in 5 cities by 200 AD, emulate (at least) the reaches of the Western Roman Empire by 450 AD, and never lose any city to barbarians by 1000 AD. Upon completing two Unique Historical Victories, a Triumphal Arch is built in the capital which increases military unit production, and a new golden age starts.
Once three civilizations discover the ’Nationalism’ technology, World Congresses will occur once every 25 turns. Major nations are invited to participate. Focusrite keygen. In Rhye’s and Fall of Civilization, not every civilization starts at the same time. In the 3000 BC starting scenario, only Egypt, Babylon, China, and India are initially present; in the 600 AD start, only China, Japan, the Vikings, and Arabia (along with the unplayable Byzantine Empire) are initially present. Other nations such as Spain and Turkey appear later in the game (at 720 AD and 1280 AD respectively). If a player chooses to be one of the civilizations that are not in the game at the start, then the game will play the initial nations automatically until the player’s chosen nation would appear.
Until the research of Nationalism, civilizations are able to hire mercenary units, and also lend out their own units. In order to hire a mercenary unit, a lump sum of gold is required to be paid, and you must also pay a maintenance cost for the unit, as for other military units. Typically, the more experienced a unit is, the more gold it costs to hire, and hiring out a more experienced unit also increases gold received. Mercenary units have a civilization’s name (or a barbarian city’s name) attached as a prefix e.g. Thracian Crossbowman or Egyptian Swordsman. The inclusion of fan scenarios in Beyond the Sword was well received by critics. Rhye’s and Fall of Civilization was singled out for praise by several reviewers.[12] Tom Chick of Yahoo! So, you’ve decided to download an older version of Mac OS X. There are many reasons that could point you to this radical decision. To begin with, some of your apps may not be working properly (or simply crash) on newer operating systems. Also, you may have noticed your Mac’s performance went down right after the last update. Given your Mac isn’t new and is filled with data, you will probably need enough free space on your Mac. This includes not just space for the OS itself but also space for other applications and your user data. One more argument is that the free space on your disk translates into virtual memory so your apps have “fuel” to operate on. The chart below tells you how much free space is needed.
Note, that it is recommended that you install OS on a clean drive. Next, you will need enough disk space available, for example, to create Recovery Partition. Here are some ideas to free up space on your drive:

*Uninstall large unused apps
*Empty Trash Bin and Downloads
*Locate the biggest files on your computer:
Go to Finder > All My Files > Arrange by size
Then you can move your space hoggers onto an external drive or a cloud storage.
If you aren’t comfortable with cleaning the Mac manually, there are some nice automatic “room cleaners”. Our favorite is CleanMyMac as it’s most simple to use of all. It deletes system junk, old broken apps, and the rest of hidden junk on your drive.

STEP 2. Get a copy of Mac OS X download
Normally, it is assumed that updating OS is a one-way road. That’s why going back to a past Apple OS version is problematic. The main challenge is to download the OS installation file itself, because your Mac may already be running a newer version. If you succeed in downloading the OS installation, your next step is to create a bootable USB or DVD and then reinstall the OS on your computer.How to download older Mac OS X versions via the App Store

If you once had purchased an old version of Mac OS X from the App Store, open it and go to the Purchased tab. There you’ll find all the installers you can download. However, it doesn’t always work that way. The purchased section lists only those operating systems that you had downloaded in the past. But here is the path to check it:

After upgrading to a newer version of Mac OS X (Yosemite 10.10 and El Capitan 10.11) or macOS (Sierra 10.12 and High Sierra 10.13), you may end up getting an annoying new pop-up message whenever you start your computer. It says, “To use the java command-line tool, you need to install a JDK.” It asks you to click “More Info” and visit the JDK (Java Developer Kit) download website.

While Apple kind of pioneered such apps on personal computers with their Macintoshes shipping with MacPaint, the scenario has been quite different since the last 3 decades with MacPaint seeing its last release in 1988. Before even hopping on and suggesting a bunch of third-party apps, I wanted to shine some light on one of the most underused and under-rated native apps on Mac OS: Preview. While I was on the hunt for a paint app, Preview managed to seriously surprise me with its capabilities.
To get started, open Preview and open up the image you want to edit or simply open the image with Preview directly. Next show the Markup Toolbar by the clicking the icon shown below.

You can now find a whole host of editing options from simple sketching and drawing to insertion of various shapes and text and even adjusting image parameters like exposure, contrast, sharpness and a lot more. You also get the ability of adding a signature or signing your PDFs from Preview itself, image size formatting and text formatting options.
Although Preview has a lot to offer, it may not be the perfect replacement for some as it does not allow you to create new image files which is its biggest setback.
Quick Tip: Be sure to first make a copy of your image before editing with Preview, as it automatically saves all your changes and it could be really hard to revert back if you have already saved the image.2. Paint Brush
Paint Brush for Mac OS is like the perfect replica of MS paint. The app is quite bare bones and extremely easy to use, offering just the basic functions of a paint application.
Unlike Preview, in this app you can create a new document and this is the first thing you are greeted with, on opening the application and you can state the size of your canvas. It offers all the basic functionalities just as MS paint like pencil, colour fill, shapes, text, magnification and also a colour picker tool which comes in very handy. It also supports most image formats including JPEG, PNG, BMP, TIFF and GIF.

Paint Brush is also very fast to open and get work done with and will be perfect for doing some small editing or painting stuff in a jiffy.

Seashore is a free, open-source paint application for Mac OS built entirely in Cocoa. While the UI might seem a little dated, the app has a lot of tricks up its sleeves which makes it an upgrade to Preview or Paint Brush.
SeaShore introduces the concept of layers, just like you have in Photoshop. The layers work like sheets of acetate stacked upon each other and the transparent areas allow you to see through to the underbidding layers. This allows you to create different layers for different effects and adjusting the effects separately or deleting them separately, thus providing easy management.
Seashore has a nifty gradient tool where you can specify the direction and strength of the gradient. Some other features include alpha channel editing, texts with sub pixel rendering and textures.

Quick Tip: Another free and open source alternative is Pinta, which is also cross platform and an exact clone of Paint.NET on Windows.

If you didn’t know, Wine is an awesome and efficient way to run native Windows applications on your Mac and the best part about it is that unlike Bootcamp or VM installations, it does not require a windows license and does not add that overhead.
The setup process can be a little tedious, but it is definitely rewarding as you can run most of your Windows apps on your Mac. Play On Mac is a third party tool built on Wine, which we recommend for installing Windows applications on Mac OS. Just download Play On Mac and all the dependencies required for Wine and then you should be able to install any Windows app of your choice. To install Paint, go to Install Apps > Graphics > Paint and hit download. MS Paint should be installed on your computer and it works just as good on any Windows PC.
Quick Tip: Although Wine is much less intensive or involving than Bootcamp or a virtual machine running Windows, it still takes up a lot of space with its dependencies and adds overhead. So we recommend this method if you are someone who is planning on using more Windows apps on your Mac or just cannot do without MS Paint.

While MS Paint is mostly about simplicity, it doesn’t hurt to include a feature packed app for all the power users out there. As I said, by no means should Pixelmator be considered a basic app as it is far from that, having a boatload of options, effects and features.
Pixelmator also offers layers with the option of layer styles presets where you can either use a predefined preset or save your own custom style preset. It also has retouching tools, colour correction tools and a real-time effects machine along with all the drawing and brushing tools. It even sports iCloud support and the ability to publish your pictures directly to social media.
What makes Pixelmator stand out from all the other professional graphic utility apps, is its flexibility; while it does have a lot of features, one can also just use the brush or pencil tools to doodle anything just as they would in any other paint app. The app is not at all overwhelming even for a beginner and strikes a perfect balance between simplicity and productivity. If you do not mind spending $30, Pixelmator is a keeper.

Mac OS doesn’t come with any paint app but that doesn’t mean that there is a dearth of paint apps on Mac and it is quite the opposite. But before downloading any third party app, we highly recommend checking out Preview and checking whether it fulfills all your needs or not. Paint Brush is an awesome simple and easy to use paint application while Seashore is slightly more complex with the addition of layers.
Pixelmator is one heck of an app with all its features, but it is very flexible and you can use it as an MS paint replacement to a cheaper Photoshop alternative.
